The largest textile plant in Russia. Today BMP is the only manufacturer of cotton and blended fabrics outside the Urals.
Tire factory "Nortek" and "YAShZ Avia"
In Russia, the "YAShZ Avia" factory is the only one producing tires for civil and military aviation, and Nortek's products occupy about 60% of the market in Russia and the CIS for agricultural and industrial tires.
Kristallin
Kristallin manufactures unique ophthalmic microsurgical scalpels with a diamond blade. Moreover, "Kristalin" produces polished diamonds and diamond inserts "PARUS", which are developed and patented by the company. This is the only enterprise in the world that uses this type of diamond cutting.
"CSort" Company
"CSort" is the leader in the Russian market in terms of color sortering production. The company's products are presented in the markets of Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA. The company's specialists have developed and introduced into production innovative high-precision equipment - a photo electronic sorter - under the brands "Zorkiy", "Optima", "SmartTSort", "MiniSort".
Science
This year, in Altai Krai, the heads of universities, scientific organizations of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and regional enterprises signed an agreement about the creation of the Altai scientific and educational center. In November, the universities of the region became the organizers of the regional platform "Vernadsky - Altai" within the Lomonosov-2020 forum. The directions of the forum's activities correspond to the key areas of scientific, technological and social-economic development of the region. 13 young scientists from universities in the region will receive 6.5 million rubles within the UMNIK program. The winners were determined by the Innovation Promotion Foundation.
In Altai Krai, more than 30 organizations are engaged in various types of scientific, design and survey activities. Each year they bring new discoveries that will surely change our lives for the better in the future.

Recent scientific discoveries

Natural preservative
Biysk scientists have developed a method for extracting a natural preservative product from sea buckthorn meal. Scientific survey was carried out with the support of a grant from the Industrial Partnership of Altayvitamins JSC. The new preservative can be used in the food industry as a replacement for synthetic preservatives. Scientists believe that it will be most in demand in confectionery and drinks.
Diagnosing cancer with nanoparticles
Scientists from Altai State University have developed nanoparticles that can help in the diagnosis of cancer. It is possible to localize the tumor at the initial stage, when the affected tissue is still almost indistinguishable from the healthy one. In the future, scientists see the possibility that particles they have developed can selectively affect cancer cells.
Wood-free paper
Altai scientists have come up with a way to obtain wood-free cellulose. The secret is to use the miscanthus plant instead of the tree. We have already learned how to make paper from it, and in the future they plan to create other eco-products. Using miscanthus instead of wood will help preserve forests.
Agricultural machine
Engineers of the student design bureau of the Altai State Technical University named after Polzunov developed a four-row rotary slot former. This is a special machine for special soil cultivation. There has never been such a model in our country. Previously, farmers used a rotary tiller, which only loosened the soil with a circular knife, without leaving a gap for planting seedlings. Now there is a model of a more productive machine. The crevice tool consists of a frame, an intermediate shaft, markers, support wheels, a gearbox and disc rotors with L-shaped blades to ensure the required dimensions of the slot. The working surface of the blade is made of wear-resistant protective material.
Special equipment without a driver
Altai State Technical University scientists have developed a system for automatic control of the movement of wheeled agricultural vehicles using satellite radio navigation systems GPS and GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) . The control system provides movement without the participation of the driver. The driver is in the car, but the developed system controls the steering. This is another step in the development of precision farming. The system will increase labor productivity.
Tillage
Another development of the AltSTU student design bureau is an agricultural machine for near-trunk tillage in fruit tree nurseries. The uniqueness of the development is that it allows to process the near-trunk zone near the seedlings without damaging them. Now the machine works at the Research Institute named after Lisavenko.
Recent scientific discoveries
AltSTU students have developed an innovative dairy product of plant origin. Milk and drinking cream which is based on vegetable raw materials will surely be appreciated by consumers with individual intolerance to lactose and milk casein, as well as vegetarians.
Super solid metal
Scientists at AltSTU have developed a special composition that is applied to the metal surface using a special method at high temperatures. As a result, the metal acquires greater strength, durability and anti-corrosion properties. Altai industry is already implementing this development. It was tested at the Altai Precision Products Plant and at the “Mokvin battery processing plant” in Novoaltaisk.
Plant milk
Scientists of the Altai Agrarian University have developed a composition of organic mineral fertilizers and designed a technological line for their production based on poultry waste using bio-fermentation. The use of these fertilizers ensures a balanced nutrition of crops and improves the ecology of the areas near the poultry farms. The harvest increases by 1.24-1.46 times.
Resource-saving technologies for farming
Scientists of the Altai Agrarian University have developed new low-emission technologies for cultivation of agricultural crops based on direct sowing "No-Till", which increase soil fertility and the efficiency of grain production in the steppe zone. The use of new technologies allows increasing the average yield of grain crops by 2-3 times, and reducing fuel consumption per unit of cultivated area by 1.5-2 times.
Fertilizer production based on poultry waste
Altai scientists suggested using probiotics instead of antibiotics when raising young animals and keeping adult chickens. They also suggest effective ways of using sets of technological equipment and lighting sources in poultry houses. The suggested solutions will improve the efficiency of the production of poultry farms and poultry farms.
Probiotic instead of antibiotic
Agriculture
By the end of the 30s of the XX century, Altai turned into one of the largest agro-industrial regions of Siberia. The development of virgin lands, which started in 1954, gave a serious impetus to the development of agriculture in the region. Today Altai Krai is the largest grain producer in the Russian Federation. Arable land occupies about 6.5 million hectares in the region, and this is the largest area of arable land among all Russian regions.
Due to the variety of soil and climatic conditions in the region, a variety of agricultural crops are grown, a significant part of which is exported.
